Gives an 8 Seats to a BJP ally in Bihar Where to Find It Six seats have been given to Chirag Paswan by the NDA. These seats will have to be split with his uncle, Pashupati Paras, who is the leader of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party.
In New Delhi: The NDA is still arguing about who should get which seats in Bihar, but the INDIA alliance has moved the political game by giving Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan eight Lok Sabha seats (8 Seats to a BJP )in Bihar and two in Uttar Pradesh, according to sources who spoke to NDTV.
Lok Sabha seats
According to sources, the INDIA alliance plan includes all six seats that the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) ran for in 2019 as a single party. It also includes two extra seats in Bihar and two extra seats in Uttar Pradesh as a deal-sweetener.
Due to a coup led by Mr. Paras a year after the death of party chief and experienced leader Ram Vilas Paswan, the Lok Janshakti Party (8 Seats to a BJP ) broke up in 2021.
People who knew Mr. Paswan had a brother named Mr. Paras and a son named Chirag Paswan. After the BJP-led NDA put Mr. Paras in the government, Chirag Paswan went after the Janata Dal United and Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar. He did not go after the BJP or Prime Minister Narendra Modi, though. He had called Modi his Ram and said he was his Hanuman.
Chirag Paswan left the NDA in 2020
Chirag Paswan left the NDA in 2020 because he didn’t agree with Mr. Kumar. He returned to the alliance last year, when Bihar’s chief minister was a part of the Mahagathbandhan, which also includes the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal run by Lalu Yadav. Reports say that tensions have been building since the head of the JDU joined the NDA earlier this year.
Mr. Paswan and Mr. Paras also have different ideas about Mr. Paras’s Hajipur Lok Sabha seat. The current MP for the seat is Mr. Paras, but Mr. Paswan has tried to claim it because it was his late father’s old seat and his “karmabhoomi.”
Two parties, the BJP and the JDU, fought for 17 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar in 2019. The LJP fought for the last six seats. The BJP and the LJP got all of the seats they ran for. The only seat the JDU lost was Kishanganj, which went to the Congress.
Reports say that the bigger partners in the NDA want to keep things the same. This means that Mr. Paras and Mr. Paswan’s party will have to work out a deal for the six seats that the LJP fought last time. This gave them some wiggle room to try to get Mr. Paswan’s group to join.
Grouping of Seats (8 Seats to a BJP):
If the plan works, it will be good for the INDIA group, which has had trouble figuring out how to share seats in a number of states, such as West Bengal and Punjab. The INDIA alliance is confident that it can stop the NDA train after losing 39-1.
The loss for the NDA and the JDU could also be good for the INDIA bloc, which is still angry about Mr. Kumar’s sudden change of mind in January.
The NDA is still arguing about who should get which seats in Bihar, but the INDIA alliance has moved the political game by giving Chirag Paswan, the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), eight Lok Sabha seats in Bihar and two in Uttar Pradesh.
