Updates to the CUET UG 2024 Registration 2024:

Today, February 27, 2024, online applications for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate, or CUET UG 2024, will become available. When the application period commences, candidates may visit to submit their applications for the examination. Chairman of the UGC Jagadesh Kumar informed ANI on Sunday that the application period will commence on Monday or Tuesday. Since it did not commence on Monday, students can anticipate it today.

The comprehensive information and notification bulletin for CUET UG will be distributed concurrently with the applications. The entrance examination is planned to take place from May 15th to May 31st.

By means of a standardised screening examination, particular students are granted the opportunity to submit applications for admission to not only the central universities, but also numerous other affiliated institutions throughout the nation.

A significant revision is anticipated at this time, which may involve eliminating the normalisation of CUET UG scores, implementing a hybrid examination format incorporating both computer and OMR, and reducing the number of subject combinations available to candidates. If implemented, the exam notice and information bulletin will include a mention of these modifications.

The UGC Chief’s Remarks on Score Normalisation

According to the UGC Chairman, the utilisation of a single-day examination schedule would obviate the necessity for normalisation, a procedure employed by the NTA to accommodate exams conducted across multiple periods and days.

“For the previous two years, in an effort to provide students with the first-choice centre to the greatest extent feasible, we were required to administer the examination for the same paper over the course of two or three days. However, by implementing the OMR mode this year, a significant number of centres will be accessible at colleges and institutions, allowing us to administer the examination nationwide on the same day. Normalisation is necessary if the test is performed on multiple days for the same paper; this is a scientific procedure, according to the chairman of the UGC.

CUET UG 2024: A hybrid exam format is anticipated for this year.

The country’s second-largest entrance exam, CUET UG, is anticipated to transition to a hybrid format beginning in 2024, utilising both computers and OMR papers. This is being done so that candidates may select an examination city that is in close proximity to them.

“The NTA is investigating the feasibility of conducting OMR-formatted papers with a substantial registration.” Thus, a greater quantity of schools can be selected as exam centres. “This will ensure that students have access to a centre in their locality, eliminating the need for them to travel to distant locations,” M Jagadesh Kumar, chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), told PTI.
