WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature called “Kept Communications” that allows you to store group chat messages.
WhatsApp is one of the few instant messaging apps that keeps improving its features so that users have the best experience possible. Developers are now adding a new feature called “Kept Messages.”
A new report from WABetaInfo says that the Kept Messages feature is useful if you don’t want certain messages to go away and want everyone in a group chat to be able to see them forever.
If you keep a message that disappears after a certain amount of time, it will stay in the chat even after the time is up. But everyone in the group will have control over these messages, and anyone can delete them at any time. If you want to check these messages again later, you can use the “Kept Messages” section.
When the new feature comes out, you won’t be able to star messages in chats that disappear, because it won’t make sense. The “Starred Messages” section will also be taken away. Open a group chat and tap on the group’s name to find it. Here you’ll find a section called “Kept Messages.” All of the messages you’ve saved will show up there unless someone deletes them.
The Kept Messages section is currently only available to beta testers who are using the latest version of WhatsApp Business (v2.23.4.10). However, the messaging platform is slowly rolling out the feature to new users, so it might be a while before you can see the section on your device.
A few days ago, WhatsApp hinted that it was working on a transcription feature that could turn long audio messages into text. It also added a number of new features, such as the ability to use emoji reactions for status updates and a private audience, among other things.
