The primary government program of commemorating Independence Day at Red Road is now back to normal after conquering the horrors of the virus. For that reason, eighty security rings are encircling the Red Road. In celebration of the parade’s 75th anniversary, the state administration aims to spread the message of peace and progress. Due to Covid, the state has celebrated Independence Day at Red Road for the past two years. However, the general public was not allowed to enter since it was so ugly. But this time, it’s not as much. The state planned the hour-long march so that the public could see it.
Today, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s statue will receive its first garlands from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. After paying respects to the memorial, the police will depart towards the parade stage. There is a plan to drop flowers from the helicopter at that moment. Schoolchildren will march in a procession carrying images of liberation warriors. Harmony tableau will appear. A tableau from Kolkata’s Durga Puja has received UNESCO historic status. There are twelve tableaus in all.
Prior to the government’s main ceremony at Red Road, Governor La Ganesha Barrackpur will join the Gandhighat gathering. will lay floral tributes at the Mayo Road base of the Gandhi statue. At 10:30, the flag will be raised in front of Mahakaran. Firhad Hakim is the state’s minister of public works and urban development. At 11 a.m., Arup Roy, the cooperative minister, will raise the flag at Navannat. The Red Road is being closed while being closely monitored and guarded by the police. There are 14 zones that make up the area. Each zone is under the supervision of an individual with the rank of Deputy Commissioner. They will once again have officers with the rank of Assistant Commissioner assisting them. The police force charged with security will be commanded by six joint commissioners.
Starting at dawn, 1,200 police officers will be on duty to protect Red Road. For security, six watchtowers have been built. Lalbazar is kept prepared by the Special Command Force of the Calcutta Police. There are three rapid reaction units. Nine patrol vans will be stationed at various locations throughout Dharmatala. Despite some issues caused by the weather, the Kolkata Police launched a search operation on Saturday by erecting 19 police pickets and 23 checkpoints throughout the city. On Sunday night, vigilance began in various locations of the city. Markets, metro stations, office buildings, and places of worship have all been placed under surveillance
From the red road ceremony platform, the chief minister will present special police medals to 11 state-based IPS personnel. In the collapse of Manipur on July 1, several soldiers perished. One of the families of those troops who live in the state will receive employment and financial support from the chief minister. Additionally, he will pay respect to the late Lata Mangeshkar, Nirmala Mishra, Bappi Lahiri, and Abhishek Chattopadhyay.
