At first, reports said that rocks were thrown at a car belonging to the NIA team, damaging the windshield. Around 5:30 in the morning, people in the area surrounded the car and threw stones at it. A top police officer said that one of the NIA’s officers was also hurt.
Two people were arrested by the NIA this morning in relation with the case. They were on their way back to Kolkata when someone attacked their car, according to the news agency PTI.

It also said that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had also filed a police report about this. Central police have sent a large group to Bhupatinagar, where the NIA team and the two people who were caught are now being held, police said.
The NIA called eight leaders of the Trinamool Congress last month to ask them about the blast.
The TMC said that the BJP was behind the NIA’s move. The eight people were asked to show up in front of the investigating agency’s officers because they didn’t show up when they were told to on March 28 at the NIA office in New Town, which is close to here.
Kunal Ghosh, the head of the TMC, said that the move was planned by the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is in opposition.
That the BJP gave the NIA a list of TMC leaders in the Purba Medinipur area so that they could arrest them, Ghosh said.
