Prime Minister Modi opened six more Vande Bharat trains in December 2023. These trains will make it easier to travel between places like Katra and New Delhi, Amritsar and Delhi, Coimbatore and Bangalore, Mangalore and Madgaon, Jalna and Mumbai, and Ayodhya and Delhi.

With 10 new trains now on the road, the Vande Bharat Express will go on the following routes:

  • Lucknow to Dehradun
  • Getting from Ahmedabad to Mumbai
  • New Jalpaiguri to Patna
  • Patna to Lucknow
  • Khajuraho to Delhi (Nizamuddin) and Puri to Visakhapatnam
  • Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal in Bengaluru, Kalaburagi
  • Ranchi and Varanasi
  • Dr. MGR Central and Mysuru (Chennai)
  • From Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam

These are the Gorakhpur-Lucknow train to Prayagraj, the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod train to Mangaluru, the Ahmedabad-Jamnagar train to Dwarka, and the Ajmer-Delhi Sarai Rohilla train to Chandigarh. Reports also say that the Indian Railways is working on a sleeping version of the Vande Bharat Express that will be able to travel overnight. A prototype is being made in Bengaluru by BEML. The sleeping version’s car body was recently opened by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

It is also expected to bring more tourists and business to the area.
The other Vande Bharat train in Chandigarh runs six days a week, except for Friday. With speeds reaching up to 180 km/h, these trains significantly reduce travel time, making them an attractive choice for both business and leisure travelers.
