“He had recently ended his relationship, and I was by myself. I had come out of a few challenging relationships, so I wanted to be single for a bit,” she remarked. The couple said that although they were free to see other people when they first started dating, Padukone “would always go back to him.”
Additionally, Deepika stated that before Ranveer proposed to her, there was no real commitment. However, Singh claimed that after just six months of dating Padukone, he realised she was “the one”.

She went on to discuss the morals that she and Ranveer would like to teach their kids. In identical ceremonies held in Lake Como, Italy on November 14 and 15, 2018, the pair exchanged vows.
