Three people are running for Delhi: Praveen Khandelwal, Manoj Tiwari, and Bansuri Swaraj, who is Sushma Swaraj’s daughter. Ramesh Bidhuri caused a lot of trouble last year when he was accused of making racist comments about BSP member Danish Ali in the Lok Sabha. He has not been elected from the South Delhi seat again. Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, who is the leader of the opposition in the Delhi Assembly, will now run for the post.

Mansukh Mandaviya, who is the health minister and was previously voted from the Rajya Sabha, will run for office from Porbandar in Gujarat. Another Rajya Sabha member and minister, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, has been chosen to run against Shashi Tharoor for the seat in Thiruvananthapuram. This should make for an interesting election.

A Great Way to Leave? Why did two BJP MPs say they don’t want to run again?

The BJP is likely to release its list of candidates for the 1st Lok Sabha today: Where to Find It
The BJP is likely to release its list of candidates for the 1st Lok Sabha today:
Jyotiraditya Scindia, a Rajya Sabha MP from Guna in Madhya Pradesh, will be running against other Union ministers. He used to hold this seat as a Congress leader from 2002 until he lost it to Krishna Pal Singh Yadav of the BJP in 2019. Bhupender Yadav, a fellow member of the Rajya Sabha, will run from Alwar, and Kiren Rijiju will run from Arunachal West.

Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni will run for office again from the Kheri seat, which comes as a surprise given the row between farmers. Mr. Teni’s son Ashish was jailed for allegedly helping to kill four farmers in Lakhmipur Kheri in 2021. One of the main demands of the protests against the Union government is that justice be done for the victims.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be running for Lok Sabha from Vidisha, but he wasn’t made chief minister of Madhya Pradesh even though the BJP won a huge win last year. He now seems destined for a national role. Another big story out of the state is that the controversial MP Pragya Singh Thakur has not been returned from Bhopal. Alok Sharma will now argue against this.

Along with the other top candidates, Hema Malini will run from Mathura, where she has been a lawmaker since 2014. Sarbananda Sonowal, who used to be the chief minister of Assam, has been chosen from Dibrugarh.
